What a great day!
What a difference a few days make! I am thanking God for the amazing changes we have seen over the last couple of days. Evie is now super happy during the day. She giggles almost all the time, especially when she feels safe in our hotel room. Even in our room she used to want to stay right where we were. But now she will go off exploring in the different bedrooms to see what everyone is doing. And then she gets super excited when she sees one of us! She likes for us to take her hand and lead us places. This morning she wanted both me and Matt's hands and go for a walk out in the hall. Of course, she is in charge and we will do her bidding. So we went for a walk with her giggling the whole way. Then we walked around some shops and she did really well. We even walked around a store and she was happy instead of crying! That was a first. And she occasionally will want to walk when we are out on the go. That is a change also. We took her to the pool for the first time today. She was very timid about it and we could just see her take it in and think about whether that was ok or not. She finally decided she wanted to try it and let daddy hold her and at least get her legs wet. Then we headed back to the room and ordered Papa Johns pizza for lunch. We might have had that for supper last night also. Haha. Don't judge!! Her biggest issue now is sleep. She does not want us to lay her down at all! It took until midnight and lots of crying until she finally went to sleep last night and then she woke up at 5:00 and started crying again. I am not sure if she is scared to go to sleep or what the deal is. But she has trouble going to sleep for her naps too. I've decided my two goals before we leave China are for her to learn how to kiss and say mama. We will see if that happens! It would be nice if she could sit in a high chair and stroller too, but hey, baby steps!

Great report! So thankful for the progress. Trust comes slowly and you are so great to try to read her fears and respond to them. Praying.
