Colorado

Life has been very busy! Since this blog was meant to be kind of a journal for me to remember some of life's moments, I am going to back track a while to catch up on some fun things that have happened. I will start with the ski trip we took to Keystone, Colorado.

We went with some of our great friends from Minnesota, Dave and Becky Atwood. When they told us they we're thinking about going, we thought it would be the perfect opportunity to go and hang out with them.

We had a great time. It was absolutely beautiful scenery (of course) and weather! It was in the 60s, so it was actually hard to stay cool enough! We ended up skiing in sweatpants and light fleeces. Because it was so nice, the snow was not great. It was icy in the morning and slushy in the afternoon. Hard for this girl that hasn't skied for 10 years!! Dave and Becky were very gracious and patient with me as they waited for me to come down the slopes! :) Oh, and Matt didn't ski. He doesn't enjoy skiing, so while we were skiing, he did what he loves. He went hiking and took some beautiful pictures! It was fun to split up so we could both do something that we really enjoy. A couple of his pictures are at the top of this post.  So beautiful!  We also had plenty of time to hang out together and eat at some fun places.

My girls say they missed us, but I don't think they really did! :). They had a lot of fun with my sister and her family for a couple of nights and then with the Reed family for a night. Sydney said it was great. Both families have a piano, American Girl dolls, and a DOG! Sydney is so in love with dogs. She has begged for one for a long time, but now the begging has been taken to another level. I am still staying strong, though. I really think we are gone too much and we don't have a good yard for a dog. I think I am safe as long as we still have a guinea pig. I have said absolutely not to having both.

Callie had a great time too. One funny thing is that she decided that the place to sleep at Traci's house was on the floor in Isaac's room. Mike and Traci tried to convince her to sleep on the bed, but she insisted that she should sleep on the floor in the corner. I talked to Callie about her sleeping on the floor when we were back home and Callie said, "well, that is the only place I could find!" lol. Little stinker! Traci really laughed at that cause they really tried to get her to sleep in a bed.

So, it was a great trip for everyone! Hope to do it again someday!!
